Terms of Service
Effective August 25, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Mount Brands LLC, a Virginia limited liability company trading as Stef's Closet, at PO Box 304, Thornburg, VA 22565 and at stefscloset.com ("the service"). Everywhere else on this site and in these terms, "Stef's Closet" means that company. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. We've kept them as plain as we can.
1. Who can use Stef's Closet
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. You're responsible for your account: keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly at privacy@stefscloset.com if you think someone else has gotten into it. You may register under any display name you like, and a real name is not required, but the email address must be one you control.
2. What the service is
Stef's Closet is a personal wardrobe manager and AI styling service: you catalog your clothing, and the service helps you pair it into outfits, offers styling advice, and creates styling imagery, including an optional AI-illustrated avatar generated from multiple-choice answers you provide (never from a photograph). Some features are free; others are part of a paid subscription or metered by a monthly credit allowance shown in the app.
3. Your content stays yours
Everything you add, including item details, photos of your clothing and notes, remains yours. You grant us only the limited license we need to operate the service: to store your content, display it back to you, and process it (including through the AI providers described in our Privacy Policy) to deliver the features you use. That license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for the short backup-rotation window described in the Privacy Policy.
Styling text and imagery the service generates for you is yours to keep and use personally. We don't publish it, and we don't use it to promote the service without your permission.
If you choose to publish a look to the Style Board, you give us the added permission we need to show that look's public card (its AI-rendered imagery, its name and styling note, and the name, color, and category of each item) publicly, under the handle you pick, for as long as it stays published. Publishing is per-look and opt-in; nothing is ever made public automatically. You can un-share a look at any time and that permission ends and the public copy comes down, and deleting your account ends it for every look you've published.
4. AI features - an honest note
Styling suggestions are generated by AI. They are opinions about clothes, offered in good faith, not professional, medical, or any other kind of regulated advice, and they can be imperfect: an occasional odd pairing, a color read that's slightly off, an image with a strange detail. Generated images are synthetic illustrations; they do not depict real people. Use your own judgment, and enjoy the parts that delight you.
5. Subscriptions, credits, and billing
- Price and renewal. Paid plans are billed monthly at the price shown at checkout, through our payment processor, Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel.
- Canceling. You can cancel anytime via Manage billing in the app. Cancellation stops future charges; your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for. No partial-month refunds. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- Credits. Metered AI features draw on a credit allowance that refreshes each billing period. Unused allowance credits don't carry over. If a payment is fully refunded, the plan and any unused credits from that payment are withdrawn.
- EU/UK customers. By starting a subscription you request immediate access to digital content and acknowledge that, once the service begins, you lose the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal, as EU/UK consumer law provides for digital services. Rights that cannot legally be waived are unaffected.
- Changes. If we change prices or materially reduce what a plan includes, we'll tell you in advance, and the change takes effect at your next renewal, never mid-cycle.
- Free plan. Free accounts have usage limits (such as a maximum closet size) shown in the app; we may adjust these limits with notice.
6. Shopping links
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Some links to products are Amazon affiliate links. If you buy something after following one, Amazon may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it does not change which pieces the app suggests to you. Following one of these links takes you to Amazon, where Amazon's own privacy policy applies.
7. Acceptable use
Keep it lawful and keep it yours. You agree not to:
- upload content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or contains another person's personal information without their consent;
- keep your uploads to wardrobe pieces: photos of clothing and accessories you own or are considering, not sexual or intimate imagery, and not photos centered on other people;
- probe, disrupt, or overload the service, or try to access other users' data;
- scrape the service, resell it, or use automated tools to bulk-extract content that isn't yours;
- use the service to develop a competing dataset or train AI models.
8. Ending things
You can delete your account anytime from Settings. It permanently erases your closet, photos, looks, and profile, and cancels any active subscription immediately. We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, and where practical we'll warn you first. If we ever discontinued the service, we'd give you reasonable notice and time to export your data.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI output will meet your expectations.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Stef's Closet will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of fifty dollars ($50) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and both sides consent to their jurisdiction. If you're a consumer somewhere whose law gives you protections this section can't take away, those protections stand.
12. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect; continuing to use the service after that means you accept them. The current version always lives at stefscloset.com/terms.
13. The fine print
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy, are the entire agreement between us. Questions? privacy@stefscloset.com.
